On 2nd September, Forward Facing teamed up with Kidzone Artclub to create a mini day festival. We brought families together, for a day of socialising, fun and catching up, at the amazing One Garden in Stanmer Park!
The lockdowns have meant that many families have been unable to spend time with their friends and relatives. This day was an opportunity for people from the Forward Facing and Young Carers communities to come together, engage in some fun activities, get creative with arts and crafts, as well as enjoy some live entertainment!
It's been nearly 2 years since the families in the Forward Facing community saw each other. Candice would normally run an annual event called 'Memory Making Day', and until this festival, it had not happened in 2 years... You can imagine just how important events like that are for the people in this community.
The Cabaret show was hosted by artist Asher Fynn, and featured 3 artists:
Sky Flow Artist - who is a Brighton-based circus artist
Max Beecher - who is a London-based contortionist
RhyssPieces - who is a London-based Drag Artist
There was fabulous dressing up and photo booth run by Sue, and gorgeous face painting by Toxi. There were fantastic artists from Kidzone. We had many wonderful volunteers who made this a really special event. We send out our gratitude and love to them all!
