We ran 3 Art workshops during the Xmas holidays... 2 of those days featured a SPECIAL GUEST, who read a book with an important message!
We teamed up with The Carers Centre for Brighton and Hove to make something for the Young Carers community, as well as the local children in the community who we usually work with
The first day was shared by both the children from the local community and Young Carers, the second day was for the local children only, and the third day was for the Young Carers only. We offered them the same experiences, the only difference was that Day 2 and Day 3 both featured the special guest...
RhyssPieces read the book
'Little People, Big DREAMS: RuPaul'... and the children understood the book's important message:
the power of friendship and supporting your friends, and the importance of being yourself!
Our special guest was RhyssPieces and they travelled all the way down from London to see us, on both Day 2 and Day 3!!!
We got the class to shout:
"RhyssPieces... RhyssPieces... RHYSSPIECES!!"
and we turned on the Mario Theme tune... and RhyssPieces dressed as Princess Peach strode through the door!!!!
The children and us were all LAUGHING!!
After the book reading we revealed a load of dressing up clothes from GLADRAGS!!!!
...and in a flurry of sequins, gauze, silly smocks and fancy frocks... the children were wild making amazing and sometimes questionable outfits!
(but they were always fun and creative!)
The Xmas Art Workshops and Drag Story Time were made possible with funding from
